During the holidays is when most people think of volunteering, although at Shepherd’s Gate we need volunteers all year through. We are always looking for individuals or groups to help us provide the services and support we offer to needy families. Have you always wanted to get involved somewhere but never knew where to start? At Shepherd’s Gate our volunteers are the essential ingredient to help us operate, last year alone volunteers gave over 3,600 hours!

  • Mailings - Sorting correspondence & addressing envelopes
  • Receptionist - Answering telephones, greeting visitors, distributing mail & faxes

  • Childcare - Babysitting while residents attend classes/appointments
  • Creativity Classes - Sewing, cooking, arts & crafts, and other life skills
  • Drivers - Providing transportation for residents to appointments & school
  • Health & Wellness - Medical, dental, legal, hairstylist, & esthetician professionals
  • House Manager Assistant - Supporting in all areas of managing Residence Hall
  • Tutoring - Coaching in all academic areas for women & children

  • Annual Banquets - Organizing, planning, execution of these fundraisers
  • Public Relations - Speaking & networking within the community

Shepherd's Gate Volunteer Committee

Do you want to see first hand the miracles that are happening daily at Shepherd's Gate? Would you like to belong to a group of men and women who meet monthly and volunteer regularly? The Shepherd's Gate Volunteer Committee is a group of interested men and women who join together once a month to hear updates about the ministry, different volunteer opportunities that are coming up and they get to hear testimonies from the women in our program.
